Function:
The software engineer will contribute to all aspects of our software development process
associated with the Broadband CPU development. This will include working in a team
environment to do generation/analysis of requirements, project planning, architecture, high
and low level designs, coding, testing, and integration. In addition the software engineer
will work closely with marketing and hardware engineering, ensuring that software is
produced which meets or exceeds requirements.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
The candidate should have 2+ years experience in embedded systems development.
Experience with embedded systems software and an RTOS is a requirement.
Familiarity with software tools (e.g. compilers, debuggers, and code management) is
required.
Familiarity with the embedded system compilers, debuggers, emulators and source
code control tools is required.
The candidate should possess strong written and oral communication skills.
In addition, the candidate should excel in problem solving and reasoning, be
self-starting and motivated to continuously improve their skills and industry
experience.
The candidate should also be familiar with software design methodologies and
notations, both structured and OO.
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
Experience with Motorola's PowerPC processor family is strongly desired.
Experience with EST emulation tools is a plus.
Experience with Ethernet, ATM, TCP/IP and other layered protocols is desired.
Experience with X.25 a plus. The ideal candidate has experience using PC-based
tools for embedded systems development.
